Today, LBP Manufacturing, an innovator in disposable food packaging, hosted a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony in Jessup to officially welcome their new employees and thank those that made this new facility possible.
“We at LBP are so very honored to be part of the Jessup community. As we make this investment today, we are securing the future of our company and the future of all those that make LBP a great place to work. We could not be prouder of the partnerships we have developed with our valued customers, key suppliers and the communities where we operate that have made this expansion possible.” said Matt Cook, CEO of LBP.
With the help of Secretary Davin from the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, the group officially opened the food packaging plant that has been in development from the beginning of this year.
“When we announced this project back in January, we knew it was great news for Lackawanna County,” said Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin. “The jobs created at this facility are going to be a boon for the community, and it shows that great things are happening with manufacturing here in Pennsylvania. I applaud LBP Manufacturing for choosing the Commonwealth for this facility, and I share their excitement as we cut the ribbon.”
Many organizations and groups were represented to help open the facility including local members of The Scranton Plan such as Chamber President, Bob Durkin. “We are pleased that LBP Manufacturing has joined the growing roster of businesses that have chosen Lackawanna County as a base for their operations. We (The Chamber) pledge to continue to assist the LBP management team as they expand their innovative and industry leading product lines while growing quality jobs in the Jessup Small Business Park,” said Durkin.
The manufacturing facility occupies 100,000 square feet and will employee 75 employees in 2017 to produce disposable food packaging, serving major national brands in various segments of food service.
LBP services 75 countries around the world with locations that also include headquarters and manufacturing in Cicero, IL, manufacturing in Chicago, IL, Shenzhen, China and Lodz, Poland.
